Analyst/Senior Analyst – Classification/Jurisdiction
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Perform export classification and jurisdiction determinations under the EAR and ITAR
- Maintain accurate ECCN/USML classifications in internal systems
- Assist with export license applications, license exceptions, proviso tracking, and technical data controls
- Conduct restricted-party screenings and escalate potential matches
- Support internal reviews, investigation support, and regulatory recordkeeping
- Partner with engineering and product teams to gather technical details for classification and licensing
- Assist in improving export control policies, procedures, and workflows
- Respond to internal stakeholder inquiries regarding export requirements and exception usage
- Stay updated on regulatory changes that impact the business
Additional IF Senior-Level Responsibilities:
- Lead complex classifications involving lasers, photonics, semiconductor, and AI-related technologies
- Prepare and submit export license/authorization applications
- Serve as a subject-matter resource and provide training on classification and export controls
- Support audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions
- Mentor junior analysts and refine team best practices
Qualifications:
Export Control Analyst (Junior):
- 1–3 years of experience in export controls, trade compliance, or related area
- Familiarity with EAR, ITAR, ECCNs, USML categories, and licensing basics
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret technical product information
Senior Export Control Analyst:
- 4–7+ years of export controls or global trade compliance experience
- Experience leading complex classifications and export authorization processes
- Ability to advise stakeholders and manage cross-functional compliance activities
Preferred (All Levels):
- Experience with lasers, photonics, semiconductor, or other high-tech products
- Experience using SAP GTS or similar trade compliance tools
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, international business, supply chain, law, or related field
