Launched in Spring 2022, The Barking Project was created to bring together animal rescues across Texas for large-scale adoption events. Focused on saving dogs at risk of euthanasia due to overcrowded shelters, the project partners with rescues to find these animals loving homes. The Barking Project continues to support the life-saving efforts of its partners by raising funds and awareness to expand their impact.

We’re thrilled to announce that The Barking Project has successfully raised over $51k from their recent annual event held on April 5th, 2025. This significant achievement will make a real difference in the lives of countless animals. All proceeds raised from The Barking Project events are distributed among the participating rescues to further their mission.

This year’s event welcomed 25 participating rescues and resulted in 65 dog adoptions (and counting). Despite a late start and rainy weather, the turnout was strong, and the impact even stronger.

The Barking Project’s commitment to saving lives doesn’t stop here. They’re already hard at work fundraising for their next annual event.
