VP Clinical Affairs & KOL Strategy

This is a highly visible, externally facing leadership role for a medical device company focused on heart failure treatment. The VP of Clinical Affairs & KOL Strategy will serve as the company’s primary clinical ambassador, owning KOL development, clinical strategy, and physician engagement across KOL communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Affairs Leadership

• Own and lead all clinical affairs activities related to heart failure and electrophysiology
• Serve as the internal clinical authority on procedures, therapy adoption, and disease state management
• Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Regulatory, Marketing, and Commercial teams to ensure clinical alignment across the organization

KOL Development & Physician Engagement

• Build, deepen, and expand relationships with top-tier KOLs in heart failure and EP
• Actively engage physicians through in-person lab presence, clinical discussions, and educational forums
• Represent the company at major scientific meetings, congresses, and advisory boards
• Drive authentic advocacy by positioning the company as a trusted clinical partner, not just a device manufacturer

Education & Training

• Lead physician education initiatives, including procedure education, therapy training, and disease state awareness
• Design and oversee fellowship and fellows programs, including curriculum development and hands-on training
• Support internal education for commercial and clinical teams to elevate overall clinical fluency

External Clinical Strategy

• Translate real-world physician feedback into actionable insights for product development and clinical strategy
• Support clinical trial strategy and investigator engagement as needed
• Help shape the company’s external clinical narrative within the heart failure and EP ecosystems

Ideal Background:

• Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred
• Deep clinical affairs leadership experience within medical devices
• Significant exposure to — and credibility within — Electrophysiology and Heart Failure
• Proven success building long-standing, high-trust relationships with EP and HF physicians
• Comfortable educating on procedures, therapies, and clinical outcomes, not just products
• Prior experience launching or scaling physician education and fellows programs strongly preferred
• Executive presence with the ability to influence at the physician, executive, and board levels
