Trade Compliance Contractor

Job Description:

• Performs defined assignments at the entry-level of the technical leadership career band
• Typically requires a college or university degree and has conceptual knowledge of theories, principles, and practices
• Develops competence by performing structured work assignments
• Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex, uses existing procedures and practical knowledge to solve problems
• Works independently and receives instruction, guidance, and direction with general supervision
• May influence others within the Assignment area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices
• Working to increase compliance throughout the business.
• Managing stakeholders from the commercial, supply chain, finance, and logistics.
• Regulatory compliance works to ensure business stakeholders are behaving correctly in international transactions.
•  Sitting within the corporate affairs team – work daily to mitigate risk to the business, provide financial savings opportunities in international transactions, and give predictability to how business stakeholders move products.

• Manages or performs work associated with both import and export administration including:
• Managing and planning import process, customs documentation, shipping, and receiving of foreign merchandise to ensure it arrives at the correct time
• Overseeing the issue of import licenses and completion of monetary transactions associated with the import in a timely manner
• Controlling all documentation related to the export process, ensuring necessary documentation is provided to customers to enable them to receive the products without delay
• Monitoring the preparation and dispatch of customer export orders, and planning/directing the flow of air and surface traffic to the destination
• Ensuring compliance with the home and foreign country government laws and customs regulations

Qualifications:

Education, Licenses, and Certification:

• Education background in Regulatory (food safety, WOAH standards, FDA or USDA compliance) or Customs regulation (Classification, FTA management, post-entry review).
• Customs certification is a plus.
• College education is required.

Experience/Skills:

• Experience with compliance programs for international shipments.
• Data management including Excel, professionalism in communication, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in the Customs ACE portal is a plus.
