Senior Quality Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides Electrical Engineering expertise and conducts product evaluations, troubleshooting, repair, and reprocessing.
• Conducts device failure analyses and root-cause investigations.
• Performs investigations of non-conformances, customer complaints, and proposes and evaluates corrective actions relating to device failures.
• Develops and drives implementation of best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve quality of output at the contract manufacturing facility.
• Proactively collaborates with contract manufacturer to establish root cause in a timely manner.
• Drives and creates continuous improvement activities.
• Develops, prepares, and/or maintains documentation pertaining to manufacturing processes, systems operation, product development, and other technical processes.
• Documents procedures and ensures standard work is being followed.
• Ensures the timely and effective follow up of all identified or assigned quality issues.
• Supports quality initiatives and works with the team to develop the necessary processes to improve quality.
• Assists in the maintenance of the Quality Management System documentation.
• Acts as an effective team member in supporting quality disciplines, decisions, and practices.
• Demonstrated record of building and maintaining effective working relationships with customers, peers, subordinates, and management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge/Educational Requirements:

• Technical training in Electrical Engineering required.
• Working knowledge of high-reliability PCB assembly, manufacturing and troubleshooting required.
• 5-7 years of experience minimum in a related industry (e.g., electronic medical devices, defense electronics, etc.) or regulated environment.

Skills & Abilities:

• A strong understanding of analog, digital, RF, and mixed-mode electronics circuits is required.
• Experienced in the use of modern electronic test equipment.
• Strong electronic device troubleshooting and repair skills are required.
• Understanding of embedded firmware coding and debugging skills required.
• Knowledge and understanding of PCB standards (IPC) are highly desirable.
• Knowledge and understanding of electrical medical device standards are highly desirable.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel).
• Self-starter with high attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively participate in a cross-functional team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
