Senior Legal Counsel -EU

Job Description:

This position is looking for a lawyer / senior associate with very good English, trained at a reputable law firm/company, if possible, with a bar exam and life science experience.

The Senior Legal Counsel, UK/ROI, must be able to work independently, collaborate comfortably and effectively in a global, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing strategic and operational legal support regarding a broad range of legal affairs, including commercial contracts, marketing and advertising, business development, ethics and compliance, data privacy, corporate, competition, and litigation.
• Serving on Affiliate’s Core Lead Team.
• Monitoring and supervising external counsels and legal spending.
• Supporting IP by collaborating with IP legal team.
• Supporting HR by collaborating with HR legal team.
• Supporting Regulatory by collaborating with the Regulatory legal team.
• Developing training plans and providing legal training to staff.

• Ability to collaborate comfortably and effectively with people across different areas of the firm and various levels of seniority, of different national and cultural backgrounds.

• Sound business acumen and commercial awareness and practically oriented, ability to identify and resolve legal issues quickly and effectively.

• Experience leveraging external counsel to provide business‐critical, pragmatic legal support in a cost‐efficient manner.
• Experience with collaborative and outsourced business relationships, including joint ventures.
• Highly developed technical skills.
• Computer literacy, familiar with all Microsoft applications.

Education:

Required:

• At least 7 years of experience as in-house counsel or lawyer in an international reputable law firm
• Trained in a reputable law firm/company.
• English fluency

Preferred:

• Admitted to the Bar
• Experience in life science, animal health industry, food industry, or other consumer-oriented or regulated industry
