Senior Director, Monitoring and Reporting

Position Summary:

The Senior Director is a key member of the Legal, Compliance, and Corporate Affairs (LCC) function and leads global monitoring and reporting programs in the compliance function. The Senior Director works with colleagues across businesses and corporate functions (including Legal, Finance, Corporate Audit Services, Tax, etc.) to develop and administer the global monitoring compliance program. Attention to detail, the ability to provide strategy, sound judgment, and a team mindset are critical to the role. Collaborative engagement, cross-functional teamplay, and a can-do mindset are each essential. This position is also responsible for collaborating with different business units, leading program initiatives, and setting strategic priorities for successful monitoring and reporting programs’ compliance and execution, worldwide.

Responsibilities:

• Lead in the design and implementation of the compliance and privacy monitoring framework to provide independent, risk-based monitoring of multiple compliance and privacy practice areas.
• Develop and deliver an annual compliance and privacy monitoring plan, ensuring all internal and external factors are taken into consideration.
• Ensure monitoring reviews are delivered on a timely basis and to an appropriate standard of quality for both compliance and privacy needs.
• Create systematic queries based on the company’s policies and procedures to proactively look at high-risk areas to monitor dollar amounts and volumes of transactions for data analytics use (e.g., third-party interactions, integrity, meals and entertainment, employee reimbursements, etc.)
• Identify diagnostic outcomes and reports which indicate, trends, analytical details, and possible. indications/predictions of pending or trending activity.
• Oversee the tracking of corrective action plans which may include process updates, documentation, and/or training; manage closure validation.
• Contribute to the enhancement of compliance and privacy processes by identifying opportunities for improved adherence to requirements and company standards.
• Provide guidance to support relevant stakeholders apply practical, proportionate, and sustainable remediation to regulatory risk and conduct issues identified in the course of monitoring.
• Closely coordinate and suggest follow on action for corporate audit services and other specific functions where stakeholders may have ownership.
• Operate and execute the monitoring and reporting strategy, reporting to senior leadership and the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) data, data trends, data analytics, and early indicators and signals of possible issues, improvements, and factors affecting such.
• Communicate and educate businesses and specific areas of outcomes, suggestions for improvement, and corrective action, via the integrated resource network, or directly.
• Handle Code of Conduct development, planning, training, and implementation, supporting CCO, on an annual basis as the project team leads.
• Support the Senior Leadership in compliance and privacy policy updates, implementation, and integration and in all operational initiatives involving compliance and privacy.
• Assist other members of the compliance and privacy team as needed in communications, assessments, policy updates, internal audits, education, and process improvements.
• Conduct or supervise data analytics, data reporting, and dashboards for monitored matters, monitoring events, and in early definition of trend and analysis reporting/detection of assigned work.
• Manage cross-functional teams, projects, and resources, directly and indirectly.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree is required.
• Minimum of 6 years working in compliance and privacy programs and their operational execution in a robust corporate environment with lead or deputy experience, having key responsibility for a demonstrably stable monitoring and reporting program.
• Minimum of 3 years handling planning, development, training, and execution of an annual Code of Conduct program.
• Operational expertise and successful program management, leading or assisting in compliance or privacy program having globally consistent policies which are deployed via a regional/local integrated resource network effecting enhanced business decisions and privacy engagement.
• Prior experience building, leading and maintaining monitoring and reporting programs, embracing a principle-based approach, where matters may be accommodated and handled regionally/locally via the integrated resource network.
• Prior substantive direct experience with stakeholders, officials, and leadership in communicating monitoring, and reporting outcomes, trends, findings, and corrective actions, where suggestions resulted in positive improvement to company and individual performances.
• Strong technical and technological understanding of data, data integrity, monitoring approaches and testing, statistical analysis, etc.
• Strong data and data analytics background including previous experience in data-oriented reporting, data, and environment modeling, predicting, and forecasting events, etc., based on specific data indicators and signals.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills, with exceptional experience in risk assessment and risk management.
• Prior successful experience working with legal counsel, compliance staff, and business leadership to define global compliance and/or privacy requirements, successfully execute monitoring and reporting programs with data analytics or artificial intelligence and routinely report on outcomes with improvement strategies. 
• Prior experience managing others directly and leading moderate to large teams successfully as a project lead is required.
• Self-starter requiring minimal oversight or direct management.
• Proven team leader and team player who values each team member, demonstrably mentors, and grows team members before self, and has competently and professionally stepped in to assist members in previous projects to ensure a successful team outcome inspiring a theme of “winning as a team.”
• Candidate must have proven project management experience with strong judgment and analytical/problem-solving skills.

Skills:

• Additional education in ethics and compliance, business operations with a project management focus, legal, and related fields, is highly preferred.
• At least three years in animal health, pharmaceutical, or a medical products / related industry, preferred.
• CIPM and CIPT certifications are highly desired.
• Direct CCPA analysis and regulatory work and experience
• Leading product and technology teams’ direction and operational guidance regarding data analytics enhancements for fields of animal health, medical devices, or similar
• Leader of Privacy Shield certification and guided cyber-insurance placements.
• Green Belt or higher, Six Sigma, is preferred.
• Prior active engagement in assisting in early business development opportunities involving digital ecosystems, encryption, cybersecurity, and anthropomorphism, is highly desired.
• Project Management or advanced project management Certification is desired.
• Prior compliance management experience is desired.
• Management of 3 or more direct reports is preferred.
• Managed internal resources, external consultants, and outside counsel to achieve resolution of
• privacy challenges with material impact on the divesture transaction and/or its valuation.
