Litigation Attorney

Position Overview:

The Litigation Attorney will play a critical role in representing our clients in a variety of complex legal matters. You will work closely with clients, colleagues, and other legal professionals to develop innovative strategies, provide expert legal advice, and navigate the intricacies of the litigation process. Responsibilities:

• Case Management: Manage a caseload of complex litigation matters from inception to resolution, ensuring that all deadlines and court requirements are met.
• Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive legal research, analyze relevant case law and statutes, and evaluate the strength of legal arguments to develop effective litigation strategies.
• Document Preparation: Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other legal documents to ensure accuracy, compliance with legal requirements, and alignment with client objectives.
• Court Representation: Represent clients in federal and state courts, administrative hearings, and alternative dispute resolution forums, presenting oral arguments, examining witnesses, and negotiating settlements when appropriate.
• Discovery Execution: Execute discovery workstreams, including leading e-discovery efforts, overseeing the collection, review, and production of documents, coordinating with experts and consultants, and preparing witnesses for depositions and trial testimony.
• Leading Ediscovery: Take a leadership role in managing and overseeing the e-discovery process, including coordinating with external vendors, leveraging technology-assisted review (TAR) tools, ensuring defensible data preservation and collection, and strategically utilizing data analytics for effective case assessment and litigation strategy.
• Client Communication: Establish and maintain effective communication with clients, providing regular updates on case progress, advising on legal options, and addressing their concerns and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues, paralegals, and support staff to develop case strategies, share expertise, and ensure efficient workflow within the firm.
• Legal Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in laws, regulations, and legal precedents relevant to litigation practice areas, and ensure compliance with ethical standards and professional responsibilities.
• Business Development: Contribute to business development efforts by fostering client relationships, participating in networking events, and seeking opportunities to expand the firm’s client base.

Requirements:

• Education and Licensure: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in the jurisdiction.
• Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience in litigation, preferably with a focus on complex civil litigation.
• Litigation Skills: Proven ability to handle all stages of litigation independently, including drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and representing clients in court.
• Strong Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess complex legal issues, identify key arguments, and develop effective litigation strategies.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional written and oral communication skills to clearly and persuasively articulate legal arguments, negotiate with opposing counsel, and effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
• Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle high-pressure situations.
• Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, sharing knowledge, providing mentorship, and fostering a positive work atmosphere.
