Responsibilities:

• Perform annual Employee Reviews while providing continuous coaching throughout the year.
• Mentor and oversee appointed Team Lead; train, develop, and mentor all team members.
• Carry out daily team huddles to review daily workflow, KPIs, volumes, and outstanding issues.
• Manage team expenses, and overtime, and monitor team KPIs and goals.
• Manage outstanding accounting issues for the team and ensure they are closed out in a timely manner.
• Ensure all processes are executed in accordance with Compliance requirements.
• Ensure team OneNote’s are well documented and continuously updated.
• Work with the team to understand the KPIs; identify where the team/operator is failing to meet expectations and evaluate to determine the best course of action to accomplish departmental goals.
• Manage all personnel vacations, sick time, and cross-training, and ensure there is appropriate coverage.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field desired; a combination of education and experience may be substituted for a degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with emphasis on international logistics; specifically, the import of international cargo through various modes.
• Minimum of 2 years of direct experience managing and leading teams in a brokerage environment.
• Licensed Customs Broker preferred.
• Demonstrated experience interacting with external and internal customers to gather information and coordinate projects and/or shipments to satisfy the client’s needs.
• Solid experience working directly with Supply Chain EDI/WMS systems – CargoWise preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of compliance, regulations, global freight forwarding or import, and/or related industries such as distribution, and supply chain logistics.
• Experience with PGA’s: FDA, USFWS, and APHIS / USDA required.
• Ability to work under stress and problem-solve, enabling teams and individuals to meet and exceed client deadlines.
• Proven ability to work in a cross-team collaborative environment developing excellent working relationships with peers and acting as a leader of teams.
• Strong math, verbal, written, and customer service skills and ability to organize, prioritize, and execute against established KPIs.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs a plus.
• HazMat certifications (IATA, IMDG, and DOT) are a plus
• Applied knowledge of Incoterms
